Project 52 #3 - Shades of Grey

Woo! Actually on time this time! This is actually the first picture I've actually submitted to the project 52 Flickr group so I think I'll add the banner now, if I can figure out how!

So, yep. More snow. It's likely to be a common theme for the next little while, being as we still have a few months of winter to go and are dealing with near record snowfalls.

Just for a little comparison. Here's how things have changed since my last "holy crap look at the snow" post.

I promise I'll find something other than the weather to talk about soon! I haven't had time to sit down and put together a longer post yet, and I probably won't until we come back from our Cuba vacation in a couple weeks, but I do want to start making time to put some of my thoughts on paper screen, as it were.

Project 52 #2 - Illustrate a Song

"Perfectly Good Guitar" - John Hiatt

I'm a few days behind with this again, as we just came back from a quick trip to the Kootenays to say our final farewell to my husband's grandfather. More on that next post.

Project 52

Somewhat belatedly, I've decided to participate in the MCP actions Project 52. Each week a new theme will be choosen as an inspiration for a photograph.

The first week's theme was around the house, and in honour of the ridiculous amount of snow we've had over the past week, here's my first entry:

Snowed In...

And a few more, just to give an idea of the amount of snow we have right now. Luckily (I guess), we live in a city very used to cold snowy winters, so life has not ground to a halt the way it does in places that do not have the infrastructure to deal with sudden snow falls. Nonetheless, I've been happy to hibernate for a few days!

New year, new blog.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog for sometime now and the beginning of a new year seemed like as good a time as any.

I'm not entirely certain what I'm going to do with this space yet. I'm hoping to use it as a space to share photos as I become a better photographer and I'm sure I'll be posting more pictures of our wee one than anyone needs to see.

I'd also like to use this space to track my progress as I work on transforming our lives and home into one that is simpler and more earth friendly. As such, this may become a bit of a garden blog, a bit of a craft blog, and definitely a bit of a green blog.

I'll be back with a proper intro and to share some other ideas shortly, but for now, here's a couple pictures from the first two days of the year.

One of my goals for the year is to get outside and spend more family time together, away from the tv and so far we've made a pretty decent start.
